Refuge Taking is the first
step on the path to Practice. Thereafter, through Moral Conduct and
Mental Development, Wisdom and Compassion is acheived. One who
takes the Threefold Refuge is more likely to have favourable conditions
in the practice.
3-Step
1-Bow
Vesak Eve
Devotees usually line up to meditatively
cirumambulate the perimeter of the temple, bowing once every three
steps, while chanting mantras or the name of the Buddha in praise
of Him. This practice helps to purify the Mind, humble the ego and
lessen obstacles along the spiritual Path.
