In gratitude to the support
from the devoted Buddhist community, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See
Monastery repays their kindness through a wide range of
services. We hold traditional events
such as group chantings, refuge-taking ceremonies, prayers &
blessings, meditation classes/retreats and Dharma talks.
The temple currently operates a Saturday
& Sunday School and Tender Loving Care
Student Care Centre. Both setups focus on the spiritual education
and mental development of the next generation. Discover too,
the
Youth Ministry, which constantly
comes up with exciting programs for young adults.
Spiritual Events Management Department is responsible for organising spiritual events within the monastery, this department endeavours to create awareness and interest in Buddhist teachings and practice for different levels of understanding, and to help chart a spiritual path of progress for aspiring Buddhists to be guided correctly with the help of qualified Sangha members in a systematic approach for each tradition of the three vehicles.
The temple has a Library in
the Dharma Hall, where books, audio CDs /VCDs of all traditions
can be found.
The Publication Ministry is involved in the
production of both present and new free
distribution books, carrying on the Buddhist tradition of Dhammadana,
or the giving of Truth.
Awareness Place, a chain
of bookshops initiated by the temple, sells Dharma books, CDs and
other Buddhist-themed merchandise oriented to spiritual well-being.
Together with Awareness Place Well-Being Centre,
located in the heart of the city, the latter aims to provide the
working class a place where they can come to learn and practise
meditation and other spiritual activities.
We host a Dharma, Music and Prayers Podcast inVibes.net and published a weekly Chinese Enewsletter Pujue .
The temple also has crematorium
and columbarium services.
Extending a helping hand to other Buddhist
organisations, Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery
also offers loan of its premises for various Dharma activities. |
