Healing From The Heart – A Public Talk by Venerable Thubten Chodron
While modern medicine has made disease prevention and treatment possible, what about the age-old afflictions of ignorance, attachment and anger that continue to plague our minds? In this talk, Venerable Thubten Chodron will teach about genuine healing that begins with cultivating a kind heart.
Venerable Thubten Chodron is an author, teacher and the founder and abbess of Sravasti Abbey. She was ordained as a Tibetan Buddhist nun in 1977 and fully ordained as a bhikshuni in 1986. On top of her work for the sangha, she engages with prison outreach and interfaith dialogue. She is also a published author on Buddhist philosophy and meditation and is currently assisting His Holiness the Dalai Lama in writing and publishing The Library of Wisdom and Compassion, a multi-volume series of teachings on the Buddhist path.
