Bursary and Scholarship Programme

Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS)’s Bursary and Scholarship Programme is dedicated to supporting students in their educational journey. The programme will assist students from low to middle-income families with financial aid for academic excellence and continued growth.

Bursary Programme | Provides financial support to students from low-income families across various educational levels. |
– Category 1 ($1,500): For students enrolled in a Diploma course at a Polytechnic or a Technical Diploma course at an ITE in Singapore – Category 2 ($2,500): For students pursuing an undergraduate degree at an MOE recognised autonomous University in Singapore

– Singaporean full-time students – Gross household income ≤ $4,500 or per capita income ≤ $1,400 – Not currently receiving a full scholarship |
Scholarship Programme | Recognises and supports high-achieving students from middle to low-income backgrounds. |
– Category A ($2,000): For students enrolled in a Diploma course at a Polytechnic in Singapore – Category B ($4,000): For students pursuing an undergraduate degree at an MOE recognised autonomous University in Singapore |
– Singaporean full-time students – Gross household income ≤ $10,000 or per capita income ≤ $3,000 – Not currently receiving a full scholarship – Minimum GPA score of “3” or higher, or grade “B” or higher in relevant subjects (per national progression guidelines) |

Important Notes:
- Shortlisted applicants must bring original copies of supporting documents to KMSPKS upon request for verification. Applicants submitting in-person may have their documents verified at that time.
- Applicants may apply for both the bursary and scholarship but are eligible to receive only one award.
- Incomplete applications or submissions lacking required supporting documentation will not be considered.
- KMSPKS reserves the right to request additional documents if deemed necessary for verification purposes.

- Admission confirmation letter (for Year 1 students)
- Personal statement and/or recommendation letter from a principal or teacher (scholarship applicants only)
Parents/Guardians:

Household Income:
Employed Individuals:
- Latest CPF contribution statement
- Payslip (within the last 3 months)
Self-Employed Individuals:
- Latest CPF contribution statement
- Latest income tax assessment
Unemployed or Retired Household Members (over age 21):
- Latest CPF contribution statement

- Via CPF Mobile app:
Log in with Singpass > Three bar icon (top left) > Transaction History > Filter icon > Select “Employment Contributions” or “Self-Employed Contributions” and “3 Months” range> Apply > Generate PDF (top right).
- Via my cpf digital services:
Log in with Singpass > “my cpf” > Transaction history > Filter > Choose month range > Search > Select “Employment Contributions” or “Self-Employed Contributions” > Apply > PDF icon (top right).
Additional Information:
- Successful applicants will be notified by mid-August 2025. Disbursement will take place in end-August 2025.
All decisions are final and at the sole discretion of KMSPKS.

1. Who can apply for the Bursary and Scholarship Programme?
All Singaporean students, regardless of race or religion, are welcome to apply.
2. Can multiple members from the same household apply?
Yes, as long as each applicant meets the eligibility criteria.
3. Is the award automatically renewed for the following academic year?
No, recipients need to reapply for subsequent academic years.
4. Are KMSPKS volunteers or students given priority?
Yes, affiliated applicants, such as KMS Dharma School students, members of the Bright Youth, or those with active volunteer parents are given additional consideration. However, this does not override the main selection criteria.
6. Can I apply for both the Bursary and Scholarship Programme?
Yes you can apply for both, but only one award (the higher value award, if eligible) will be granted.
7. If I apply for the Scholarship Programme but am unsuccessful, will I be considered for the Bursary Programme?
No, you will not be automatically considered for the Bursary Programme. To be considered for both awards, you must submit separate applications for each programme.
