Pledge your Shakyamuni Buddha’s Name Chant count

Vesak marks the birth, enlightenment and Parinirvana of Shakyamuni Buddha, who was born in Lumbini over 2,600 years ago. Through his awakening, he illuminated a path that leads beyond suffering, grounded in wisdom, compassion and an understanding of our true nature.

In honour of this sacred occasion, we invite you to take part in a simple yet meaningful pledge by chanting the revered name of Shakyamuni Buddha: “Na Mo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mo Ni Fo”. With each sincere recitation, we return to stillness, nurture clarity and extend wholesome intentions towards all beings.

How to participate?

  1. Visit here.
  2. Submit:
    a. Name
    b. Pledge to chant: 108, 540 or 1080 times
    c. After you have completed the pledge, please recite “A prayer to Shakyamuni Buddha”:

Namo Ben Shi Shi Jia Mou Ni Fo

I humbly wish for –

  1. Happiness, peace and prosperity for all.
  2. Good health, devotion and wealth.
  3. To overcome the three poisons (greed, anger and ignorance), and practise morality and loving-kindness.
  4. Happiness, peace and unity for myself and my loved ones.
  5. To be guided by wisdom and virtue in times of difficulties.
  6. To dispel the darkness of ignorance, hatred and bigotry.
  7. World peace and enlightenment for everyone.
  8. May everyone embody Buddha’s compassion and virtue, and may the Dharma be spread to ends of the world.

3. To complete the Online Pledge of the Namo Shakyamuni Buddha’s Name Chant, recite the “Dedication of Merits” verse to dedicate the merits to your loved ones:

By virtue of this meritorious act,
may all sentient beings attain Buddhahood.

    b. 选择发愿念诵的次数:108，540 或1080遍
    c. 完成念诵以后，念《向释迦牟尼佛祈愿文》：

一、愿昌盛祥和
二、愿信解、安康、富足
三、愿解贪嗔痴三毒，慈爱众生
四、愿家庭祥瑞，诚信三宝
五、愿智慧光明指引康庄大道
六、愿佛光普照驱除幽暗
七、愿世界趋向和平与悟道
八、愿悲悯众生，弘法度众，广度群迷

d. 最后，念《回向偈》圆满功德：

愿以此功德    普及于一切
我等与众生    皆共成佛道
