Yin Yoga
Feeling overwhelmed or stressed? Rediscover inner peace and restore balance in your life through our relaxing Yin Yoga classes.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is a meditative practice that embraces stillness and patience, providing the perfect balance to more dynamic exercises like Yang Yoga. This gentle and introspective approach involves holding poses for extended periods, focusing on deep muscle relaxation over exertion. As you settle into each pose, you’ll develop a deeper awareness of your body and mind, while encouraging a healthy flow of Qi (energy) throughout your body for optimal health.
Yin Yoga Meets Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)
Yin Yoga blends the ancient healing doctrines of TCM with the practice of yoga. By stretching muscles in Yin Yoga poses, we stimulate the body’s meridian channels — fluid pathways within our connective tissues, known as fascia. Holding each pose for 3 to 5 minutes gently stresses these meridians, and when the pose is released, Qi (energy) flows freely through these channels, bringing a deep sense of relief and balance to the body.
