Instructor: 

Ajahn Sucitto was born in London and ordained as bhikkhu in Thailand in March 1976. Twi years later, he returned to Britain to train under Ajahn Sumedho at the Hampstead Buddhist Vihara.

In 1979, he joined the pioneering group of monks led by Ajahn Sumedho in founding Cittaviveka – Chithurst Buddhist Monastery. He later helped established Aruna Ratanagiri Monastery in Northumberland and Amaravati Buddhist Monastery in Hertfordshire. In 1992, Ajahn Sucitto was appointed Abbot of Cittaviveka, a role held for two decades before stepping down in October2014. He has continued teaching since then.

Ajahn Sucitto has dedicated much of his life to teaching, editing and writing. He also played a key role in developing the protocols and training standards of the Ten Precept Sīladharā Order (nuns), helping to establish a strong foundation for their monastic life.
