Yin Yoga
Feeling anxious and stressed out? Join our relaxing Yin Yoga classes and find the balance in your life again.
What is Yin Yoga?
Yin Yoga is the practice of stillness and steadiness, an ideal balance to Yang Yoga and other more dynamic exercises. The quiet and gentle practice requires you to hold poses for a longer time, focusing on muscle relaxation over exertion. At the same time, it enables you to build awareness for both your body and mind while stimulating a healthy flow of Qi (energy) within your body for optimal health.
Yin Yoga Meets TCM
Yin Yoga incorporates the healing doctrines of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) with yoga poses. The stretching of muscles in Yin Yoga poses helps to stimulate the body’s meridian channels — water structures in the connective tissues of our bodies known as fascia. Holding a Yin Yoga pose for 3 to 5 minutes puts our meridian channels under mild stress, while releasing it allows Qi (energy) to flow through these channels — creating sensations of relief in our body.
