Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery (KMSPKS) is a spiritual sanctuary in urban Singapore where one can learn the Buddha’s teachings of wisdom and compassion, practise mindfulness, develop gratitude and spread happiness to all.
Founded in 1921, KMSPKS is one of Singapore’s first traditional Chinese forest monasteries. It sits on 75,470 square metres (equivalent to almost 11 football fields) and is one of Southeast Asia’s most significant and renowned monasteries. Over the years, we have grown dynamically in Dharma propagation, community involvement and religious harmony efforts to become a hub where Buddhists come together to learn, practise and share the teachings of the Buddha.
Today, in alignment with KMSPKS’s vision, our facilities have expanded to include The Buddhist College of Singapore (BCS) founded by the current Abbot, Venerable Sik Kwang Sheng, in 2005. Located within the premises of KMSPKS, our Buddhist education institution for Sangha offers BA and MA Degree programmes in English and Chinese for both local and overseas monastics.
光明山普觉禅寺（KMSPKS）是新加坡的一处心灵绿洲。大众可以在此学习佛陀的智慧与慈悲，修习正念，培养感恩之心并利益他人。成立于1921年，光明山普觉禅寺是新加坡最早出现的其中一个汉传佛教丛林寺院。寺院占地75,470平方公尺（相当于近11个足球场），同时也是东南亚最著名的寺院之一。多年来，我们致力于推动弘法事业、参与社区公益及促进宗教和谐，励志成为佛教徒共同学习与修行的道场。为落实愿景，现任方丈广声大和尚也在寺院中创办了新加坡佛学院（BCS），为本地及海外的僧众提供中、英文授课的本科与硕士学位课程。

Since its founding, KMSPKS has continually expanded to include a wide variety of facilities. From shrine halls dedicated to buddhas and bodhisattvas, to ancestral halls and crematorium for our ancestor’s final resting place, these facilities all aid devotees in their spiritual journey.
The monastery’s most recent addition is the construction of the Prajna Meditation Hall, a purpose-built facility that provides a comfortable and conducive environment for meditators to practise wholeheartedly without distractions. The five-storey building, located at the site of the previous Dharma Hall, houses the Aloka Library (光明图书馆), Visitors and Sanghas can browse through the extensive collection of Buddhist literature and scriptures, attend talks, and engage in self-study. The Mediation Hall regularly conducts meditation courses, primarily led by Abbot, Venerable Kwang Sheng. The building pays tribute to its predecessor with preserved artifacts and motifs from the old Dharma Hall. At night, the building’s gently sloping roof and brightly lit interiors resemble a lantern, guiding us on the path to enlightenment
自成立以来，光明山普觉禅寺不断扩建并增设各种设施。从各个殿堂到祭祖堂和火化场，为信徒的修行之道提供协助。寺院最新增设的般若禅堂，为禅修者提供一个庄严、静谧与舒适的现代化禅修环境，让禅修者能够专心修行，不受外界所干扰。位于藏经楼之前的所在地，般若禅堂一共高达五层楼。禅堂的一楼为光明图书馆，除了提供大量佛教文献与藏经，也设有法师与访客的自习与研讨区域。在方丈广生大和尚带领下，本寺定期在般若禅堂举办禅修课程。般若禅堂保留了藏经楼过去的文物与元素，夜间灯光亮起的时候，整栋建筑仿若一盏明灯，指引大众走向成佛之道。
